Every time.

History does repeat itself.

I've experienced it.

Even mistakes that we regret so badly are ones we make again.

Every time I get close to someone, stuff happens. Someone or something gets in the way.

Either I loose or they loose.

But I can't be selfish. I have to think of others.

So I loose.

Every time.

Will I ever get the chance to be truly happy?

Time keeps ticking.

I am running out of time.

Maybe I'm meant to live a different path.

Which is not the one I always imagined.

And it was all a lie.

  1. Well...here is my take...this is not the same as last time. Last time you did make a mistake and you learned from it, so much that even the slightest hint of something similar you are willing to do anything not to do it again.

This time, however, you are being taken advantage of - the fact that you are willing to give up something in order to make someone else happy.

Thinking of others is a very worthy sentiment. We both know that helping others should be a high priority in our lives.

BUT it is also easy to forget that you cannot help other people effectively until your own needs are at least minimally taken care of.

Always thinking of others first can make you a doormat to be trodden on. Sometimes you need to take time to do somethings for yourself sometimes. In the end it makes you a better person, one who will be less stressed, healthier and have more energy to help others when the time comes.

Think of yourself as a car, you can only go so far on a tank of gas before you have to stop and fill up with gas.

Remember to be assertive on what you want. You can tell someone what you want in a kind and considerate manner. Just remember that some people are determined to get what they want, twisting the situation to their advantage, in this case using the fact that you are compassionate to get what they want.

Stick to the facts, explain your own feelings, and let the chips fall where they may...the person may not like what you have to say, but they will respect you in the end for you being true to who you are.
